Crewe born professional footballer to visit town centre shop this week

An experienced Crewe Alexandra football player is set to visit one of the town’s most popular venues this week – giving away 25 signed photos.

Kelvin Mellor will be visiting the Crewe Alexandra RSS pop up shop, within Crewe Market Hall, on Thursday (October 6), from 4:30pm to 6pm.

The Crewe Alexandra defender will be giving away 25 signed photos to young supporters.

The original date for the Crewe’s players visit was Thursday (September 29) – this was pushed back another week.

Last month, Crewe Alexandra’s independent Railwaymen Supporters Society (RSS), officially opened up the pop up shop inside Crewe Market Hall.

The shop is being run by the society’s volunteers in collaboration with Crewe Alexandra Football Club.

Today (September 27), the RSS announced Mellor would be visiting their new shop.

A statement on social media read: “We are delighted to announce Kelvin Mellor will be visiting The RSS Market Hall Stall on Thursday between 4:30pm-6pm.

“We’re also be giving away 25 signed photos of Kelv.

“Remember – our Market stall is fully stocked with various items from kits, clothing and various Crewe Alex gifts.”

Under the management of Alex Morris, Crewe re-signed Mellor back in May.

The 31-year-old helped the club to achieve promotion in 2012 and win the EFL Trophy in 2013.

The Crewe Alexandra pop up shop is open on Thursdays, 4pm to 8pm, Fridays, 3pm to 8pm and Saturdays 10:30am to 1pm (home games only).

We have limited opportunities for exciting small businesses to join us at Crewe Market Hall, including retail and fresh food retail uses.
